Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

A multi-agent collaborative framework with human-in-the-loop for well log interpretation and applications

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development
This paper proposes a multi-agent system centered on large language models to address the issues that traditional well log interpretation relies on expert experience and poses great difficulty in multi-disciplinary collaboration and constructs a digital ...

Reasoning with inconsistencies in hybrid MKNF knowledge bases [PDF]

open access: yesLogic Journal of IGPL, 2012
This paper is concerned with the handling of inconsistencies occurring in the combination of description logics and rules, especially in hybrid MKNF knowledge bases. More precisely, we present a paraconsistent semantics for hybrid MKNF knowledge bases (called para-MKNF knowledge bases) based on four-valued logic as proposed by Belnap.

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

Hybrid Reasoning with Forest Logic Programs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Open Answer Set Programming (OASP) is an attractive framework for integrating ontologies and rules. Although several decidable fragments of OASP have been identified, few reasoning procedures exist. In this paper, we provide a sound, complete, and terminating algorithm for satisfiability checking w.r.t.

Guiding AlphaFold to predict how Munc13‐1 opens Syntaxin‐1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The syntaxin‐1 Habc‐domain (orange), linker (pink) and SNARE motif (yellow) form a closed conformation that binds to Munc18‐1 (violet) and is opened by the Munc13‐1 MUN domain (cyan) to form the SNARE complex that triggers neurotransmitter release.

Building a Knowledge Base of Bridge Maintenance Using Knowledge Graph

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2023
To effectively manage the heterogeneous and discrete knowledge of the bridge maintenance domain, this study adopts knowledge graph technology to build a knowledge base of bridge maintenance, called the bridge maintenance knowledge graph (BMKG).

Effects of IGFBP4 deficiency on human preadipocyte proliferation and differentiation through the IGF1R/AKT pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.
