Resilient education: The role of digital technology in supporting geographical education in Ukraine

open access: yesTransactions of the Institute of British Geographers, EarlyView.
Abstract This commentary spotlights the continued impact of the Russian invasion on geography education in higher education in Ukraine. From discussions with Ukrainian geographers in institutions in contrasting regions of the country, we describe their resilience in adapting the delivery of the physical geography curriculum, especially in the essential

Assigning airport ground handling operations: a data‐driven matheuristic

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 33, Issue 1, Page 359-383, January 2026.
Abstract In this paper, we study a problem in the crossover between vehicle routing and scheduling problems. The multi‐trip capacitated vehicle routing and scheduling problem with time windows and meal breaks is extended to a heterogeneous fleet of trucks and drivers, with qualifications and different loading patterns.

On the Role of Field‐Aligned Density Ducts in Z‐to‐O Mode Conversion in the Ionosphere: A 2D Simulation Study

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 15, 16 August 2025.
Abstract High‐frequency (HF) ordinary polarized (O)‐mode waves transmitted along the Earth's geomagnetic field can excite plasma modes on both the bottomside and topside of the ionosphere, a process attributed to O‐to‐Z mode conversion. This mechanism explains how electromagnetic wave energy penetrates beyond the resonance.

HYBRID ROCKET ENGINE TEST FACILITY DESIGN

open access: yesHavacılık ve Uzay Teknolojileri Dergisi, 2016
Hybrid rocket engines is relatively less researched subject of chemical rockets. Using fuel and oxidizer in different phases hybrids are safe and cheap. Yet, they are not generating enogh thrust to deliver heavy payloads to edge of space.

Experimental Flow Investigation of a Truncated Ideal Contour Nozzle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Various tests showed a significant side load peak for low nozzle pressure ratios during engine start-up and shut down phase. DLR Lampoldshausen carried out tests to examine the flow field in a truncated ideal contour nozzle for low NPR.
