Application of Artificial Neural Networks in Hybrid Simulation
Hybrid simulation is a technique for testing mechanical systems. It applies to structures with elements hard or impossible to model numerically. These elements are tested experimentally by straining them by means of actuators, while the rest of the ...

Snoopy’s hybrid simulator: a tool to construct and simulate hybrid biological models [PDF]
Hybrid simulation of (computational) biochemical reaction networks, which combines stochastic and deterministic dynamics, is an important direction to tackle future challenges due to complex and multi-scale models. Inherently hybrid computational models of biochemical networks entail two time scales: fast and slow.

The current paradigm of low-T combustion and autoignition of hydrocarbons is based on the sequential two-step oxygenation of fuel radicals. The key chain-branching occurs when the second oxygenation adduct (OOQOOH) is isomerized releasing an OH radical ...

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Hybrid simulation of cellular behavior [PDF]
Abstract Motivation: To be valuable to biological or biomedical research, in silico methods must be scaled to complex pathways and large numbers of interacting molecular species. The correct method for performing such simulations, discrete event simulation by Monte Carlo generation, is computationally costly for large complex systems ...
