Hybrid type novel switched reluctance motor

PESC 98 Record. 29th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference (Cat. No.98CH36196), 2002
A new hybrid type of switched reluctance motor (SRM) and its control method are proposed in this paper. The new type of SRM consists of the usual salient pole type or a cylindrical type stator and one rotor in which two permanent magnets are installed symmetrically between the iron poles of the rotor.

Single Pole Hybrid Switch

2013 IEEE 59th Holm Conference on Electrical Contacts (Holm 2013), 2013
Electromechanical switching device while making & breaking an electrical circuit is subjected to arcing which is responsible for faster contact wear out, burning of insulation and conductive tracking between the poles. This leads to premature failure and poor electrical life of the device.

Energy efficiency of hybrid optical switching

2012 14th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2012
Hybrid optical switching (HOS) has the potential to provide highly efficient operation through combining various switching paradigms and different implementation options within the same network. The flexibility of choosing between circuit, packet or burst switching and electronic or optical implementation results in an improvement in both energy and ...

Multi-stage DC hybrid switch with slow switching

IECON 2011 - 37th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2011
The applications of direct current are limited in medium and high power systems because of the problems in switching. In this paper, a circuit of a multi-stage dc hybrid switch is proposed for medium-power (10kW) highly-inductive dc systems. Based on the multi-stage switching strategy, a slow switching method is further studied for limiting the ...

Improved Hybrid Switched Inductor/Switched Capacitor DC–DC Converters

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2021
High voltage gain dc–dc converters are widely used in various applications like low-voltage sustainable sources. In traditional boost converters, the voltage gain is limited by high voltage stress, high current ripple, and low efficiency due to employing a high duty cycle ratio.

Optoelectronic Hybrid Switching

Topical Meeting on Photonic Switching, 1987
Optical methods have proved extremely successful for signal transmission and have very quickly formed the basis for a maturing industry. Other applications of optics to informatics are less natural. For example, it has been recognised that wideband transmission implies a future need for wideband switching, but the development of optical switches has ...

Hybrid power switch concept

Digest of Technical Papers. Tenth IEEE International Pulsed Power Conference, 2002
Although there are a number of excellent high pulsed power switches ranging from FETs to thyratrons to SCRs, each different type of switch suffers from constraints related to the physics of that type of switching technology. A hybrid high-power electronic switching module consists of a combination of well-chosen switching elements working together to ...

Hybrid-Excited Switched-Flux Hybrid Magnet Memory Machines

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2016
The memory machine concept is recently extended to switched-flux (SF) machines, forming a series of SF hybrid magnet memory machines (SF-HMMMs). They exhibit the merits of good demagnetization withstand capability and effective flux adjustability.

Hybrid and Switched Systems

2017
This chapter reviews the theory of switched systems.Governed by a combination of mode-dependent continuous/discrete dynamics and logic-based switching, and having a wide range of motivating applications, the qualitative behavior of switched systems is highlighted here.

Hybrid system with markov switching

Fifth World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation (IEEE Cat. No.04EX788), 2004
A new hybrid system was introduced in this paper. In this hybrid system, the dynamical behavior of the discrete state is a Markov chain. This was based on the fact that the character of the discrete state motion of hybrid system is switching on its discrete state and the state of a Markov chain is also discrete. With the properties of the Markov chain,
