Ultrasonic Welding of Hybrid Joints
JOM, 2012A central research field of the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Kaiserslautern (WKK), Germany, is the realization of innovative hybrid joints by ultrasonic metal welding. This article gives an overview of suitable ultrasonic welding systems as well as of essential machine and material parameters, which influence the ...

Hybrid realization of fillet weld
COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2018Purpose A model of hybrid fillet welding is built and solved. No additional material (welding rod, etc.) is used. Heating of the welded parts is realized by laser beam with induction preheating and/or postheating. The purpose of these operations is to reduce the temperature gradient in welded parts in the course of both heating and cooling, which ...

Solid State Phenomena, 2007
Hybrid welding of stainless steels or aluminum alloys was performed using the heat sources of YAG laser and TIG, or YAG laser and MIG, respectively. The effects of welding conditions and melt flows on penetration depth, weld bead geometry and bubble/porosity formation were investigated with X-ray transmission real-time observation method.

Welding quality evaluation of resistance spot welding based on a hybrid approach
Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, 2020In this investigation, the welding quality of TC2 titanium alloy with 0.4 mm thickness was predicted using two regression models and an artificial neural network model. The welding current and the voltage between the upper and lower electrodes were obtained using the Rogowski coil and a line voltage sensor.

Fatigue of welded hybrid‐joints
Materialwissenschaft und Werkstofftechnik, 2005AbstractOnly for steels up to grade S690QL the well‐known fact is confirmed that the fatigue strength of welded joints is independent of the material. For higher strength steels a remarkable reduction of the fatigue strength is found. Some advice is given for designers in which situations the one or the other of the various approaches for the ...

Arc Welding and Hybrid Laser-Arc Welding
2009Laser-arc hybrid welding has developed into a viable industrial technology in recent years, and is attracting increasing commercial interest. The physics of the underlying interactions is quite complex. In order to explore the relationships involved, it is useful to consider important aspects of laser and arc welding separately.

Visual measurement and tracking in laser hybrid welding
Machine Vision and Applications, 2007This paper presents a novel system for the automatic analysis of a hybrid welding process. High-speed imaging and laser illumination are used to measure the regularity of electric arc frequency and flight directions of filler metal droplets. A fuzzy c-means clustering method is used to detect arcs and segment the video sequences.

Interaction mechanisms in hybrid laser arc welding
ICALEO 2014: 33nd International Congress on Laser Materials Processing, Laser Microprocessing and Nanomanufacturing, 2014Achievable benefits in hybrid laser-arc welding are closely related to suitable parameter settings. Basic optimizations consequently need a profound understanding of the relevance of involved interaction mechanisms. These are however differently evaluated and discussed in literature.
