Study of weld formation characteristics in laser-arc hybrid welding
International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2022The laser-arc hybrid welding was carried out on the marine-use steel, and the effects of primary parameters on weld behavior were investigated. The results show that the weld penetration increased gradually with the increase of laser power. Meanwhile, superior weld formation, penetration and reinforcement were achieved when laser and wire distance was

Arc Welding and Hybrid Laser-Arc Welding
2009Laser-arc hybrid welding has developed into a viable industrial technology in recent years, and is attracting increasing commercial interest. The physics of the underlying interactions is quite complex. In order to explore the relationships involved, it is useful to consider important aspects of laser and arc welding separately.

Visual measurement and tracking in laser hybrid welding
Machine Vision and Applications, 2007This paper presents a novel system for the automatic analysis of a hybrid welding process. High-speed imaging and laser illumination are used to measure the regularity of electric arc frequency and flight directions of filler metal droplets. A fuzzy c-means clustering method is used to detect arcs and segment the video sequences.

Journal of Laser Applications, 2017
The welding of thick metal sheets has become increasingly important for structural steelwork engineering applications (e.g., pipe- or crane building). Nowadays, welding tasks are performed using a time-consuming conventional submerged arc welding process.

Interaction mechanisms in hybrid laser arc welding
ICALEO 2014: 33nd International Congress on Laser Materials Processing, Laser Microprocessing and Nanomanufacturing, 2014Achievable benefits in hybrid laser-arc welding are closely related to suitable parameter settings. Basic optimizations consequently need a profound understanding of the relevance of involved interaction mechanisms. These are however differently evaluated and discussed in literature.

Optimization of parameters in hybrid welding of aluminum alloy
SPIE Proceedings, 2003Numerous advantages of hybrid welding, in which laser beam and arc has combined, over autogenous laser welding has been reported. Especially in case of inaccurate joint preparation or fixturing of the plates to be welded because of the filler metal added to the process through MIG-welding.

Weld characterization of laser arc hybrid welding of pure copper
The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2017A series of experiments of high-power fiber laser-arc hybrid welding of pure copper was carried out. It could be seen that the microstructure of weld metal was obviously coarsened, and the columnar grain spacing at fusion zone and the massive grain size at heat-affected zone were both linearly increased with the increase of heat input.

Welding Phenomena in Hybrid Laser-Rotating Arc Welding Process
Materials Science Forum, 2007Hybrid laser-rotating arc welding (HLRAW) process was designed by combining the laser beam welding (LBW) process with the rotating gas metal arc welding (RGMAW) process. In this study, comparing with conventional HLAW, weld bead characteristics as a function of the various process parameters were evaluated for HLRAW.
