Hybridization as a conservation management tool

open access: yesConservation Letters, 2019
The recent extensive loss of biodiversity raises the question of whether organisms will adapt in time to survive the current era of rapid environmental change, and whether today's conservation practices and policies are appropriate.

HYBRID PEDAGOGIES FOR HYBRID WAR

open access: yesSCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND EDUCATION IN THE AIR FORCE, 2016
DOI: 10.19062/2247-3173.2016.18.2.3 Abstract: Paper presents the main characteristics of hybrid war and the new requirements for military educational and training system related to the new challenges of these irregular threats. The hybrid wars require innovative thinking, a more flexibility in action, and enhanced cognitive skills.

MET and NF2 alterations confer primary and early resistance to first‐line alectinib treatment in ALK‐positive non‐small‐cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Alectinib resistance in ALK+ NSCLC depends on treatment sequence and EML4‐ALK variants. Variant 1 exhibited off‐target resistance after first‐line treatment, while variant 3 and later lines favored on‐target mutations. Early resistance involved off‐target alterations, like MET and NF2, while on‐target mutations emerged with prolonged therapy.

On twin hybrids [PDF]

open access: yesZeitschrift für Induktive Abstammungs- und Vererbungslehre, 1907
1. Hybrids between members of the group Onagra or the O. biennis group of the evening primroses are, as a rule, constant in succeeding generations. An exception is O. brevistylis, the character of which follows Mendel's law. 2. The reciprocal hybrids of this group are, as a rule, unlike one another, and mostly patroclinous. 3.

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

Oligonucleotides with fluorescent dyes at opposite ends provide a quenched probe system useful for detecting PCR product and nucleic acid hybridization.

open access: yesPCR methods and applications, 1995
The 5' nuclease PCR assay detects the accumulation of specific PCR product by hybridization and cleavage of a double-labeled fluorogenic probe during the amplification reaction.

Comprehensive omics‐based classification system in adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The COMBAT classification system, developed through multi‐omics integration, stratifies adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(B‐ALL) into three molecular subtypes with distinct surface antigen patterns, immune landscape, methylation patterns, biological pathways and prognosis.

New prospects in the detection and comparative analysis of hybridization in the tree of life.

open access: yesAmerican-Eurasian journal of botany, 2018
Assessing the relative importance of the various pathways to diversification is a central goal of biodiversity researchers. For plant biologists, and increasingly across the spectrum of biological sciences, among these pathways of interest is ...

Hybrid inflation

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1994
Usually inflation ends either by a slow rolling of the inflaton field, which gradually becomes faster and faster, or by a first-order phase transition. We describe a model where inflation ends in a different way, due to a very rapid rolling (`waterfall') of a scalar field $ $ triggered by another scalar field $ $.
