Cardiopericardial Hydatid Cysts
World Journal of Surgery, 2001Cardiac hydatic cyst is a rare parasitic disease. We reported 45 patients with cardiac hydatid cysts; 33 of the 45 had a primitive, unique cardiac cyst. Altogether, 18 patients of our series were asymptomatic, and 27 patients complained of symptoms (dyspnea, chest pain, palpitations). In 11 cases the cyst was revealed by an acute complication; 3 of the

A case of intravesical hydatid cyst is reported. The cyst was completely evacuated cystoscopically with intravesical instillation of a scolicidal agent (hydrogen peroxide) to destroy scolices and daughter cysts. The postoperative course was uneventful, and follow-up did not show evidence of recurrence.

AbstractHydatid cyst is a parasitic disease caused by Echinococcus. Although the first and most important site for this parasite is the liver, it can be seen in pelvic organs as well. However, primary involvement is very rare. We report and discuss a case with a primary involvement of the uterus which was operated and confirmed by microscopic studies ...

Hydatid disease with Echinococcus granulosus involves mainly the liver and lungs and occurs in many endemic regions of the world (1-4). Although the first and most important sites for this parasite are the liver and lung, it can be seen in pelvic organs as well (5-10). We report the rare occurrence of a primary pelvic hydatid cyst.
