Out of 177 different hydatid localisations 9 were juxtavesical. In 3 patients the cysts were recurrent. The diagnosis, based on the clinical and radiological examinations and exploration was facilitated by the history or the co-existence of other parasitic lesions.

In a series of some 45 thoracotomies for hydatid cysts of the lung a variety of operative techniques was applied, mainly aiming at extrusion of the cyst from the lung, without contamination of the pleura and obliteration of the residual pulmonary cavity.
