Hydraulic Modeling of a Mixed Water Level Control Hydromechanical Gate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This article describes the hydraulic behavior of a mixed water level control hydromechanical gate present in several irrigation canals. The automatic gate is termed "mixed" because it can hold either the upstream water level or the downstream water level

Evaluation of Plasticity and Creep Parameters From Tensile Stress–Strain Data for a Range of Strain Rates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This plot compares experimental tensile stress–strain curves (with 4 different strain rates) and corresponding modelled curves (obtained using the optimised sets of Voce and Miller–Norton parameter values shown). The inferred M‐N values, characterizing the creep, are very similar to those obtained via conventional creep testing.

Hydraulic justification of the water outlet conduit parameters in connection with the Don Main Canal reconstruction (2nd phase of the II reconstruction stage)

open access: yesМелиорация и гидротехника
Purpose: calculation substantiation of the Don Main Canal outlet conduit parameters, which would ensure reliable and safe operation, as well as reduced risks of flooding and damage, for their adaptation to new hydraulic conditions.

Hydraulic calculation of changeable irrigation sediment reservoir

open access: yesEuropean Science Review, 2017
In this article we offer a calculation method for the changes in the river sediment distribution with hydraulic parameters. We also determine for measured and accounting distribution of the sediment by length of the river flow.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

Calculating the main canals [PDF]

open access: yesИнженерно-строительный журнал, 2013
In the proposed method hydraulic design of the main canal is combined with the selection of optimal solution. As a goal function it was accepted the dependence, minimizing the amount of excavation and concrete works on the establishing the canal.

One-log call iterative solution of the Colebrook equation for flow friction based on Pade polynomials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The 80 year-old empirical Colebrook function zeta, widely used as an informal standard for hydraulic resistance, relates implicitly the unknown flow friction factor lambda, with the known Reynolds number Re and the known relative roughness of a pipe ...

Exploring Dipolar Dynamics and Ionic Transport in Metal‐Organic Frameworks: Experimental and Theoretical Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.

Hydraulic size of non-spherical solid particles [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
The paper studies impact of determining the diameter of solid particles on the calculation of the hydraulic particle size in the water flow. The relevance of the topic is also connected with the use of calculation of hydraulic size in hydraulic ...
