Architecture of the Patrimonio Fault System and the Miocene Post‐Orogenic Extension in Alpine Corsica (France)

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The exhumation of Alpine Corsica is the result of Oligocene‐Miocene lithospheric back‐arc extension in the wake of the eastward migration of Apenninic subduction. Although the geometry, kinematics and timing of ductile detachments are well constrained, the brittle extension leading to final exhumation of Alpine Corsica is less documented.

The Oldest Known Eocene Loess in the Western United States: Evidence From a Fluvial‐Eolian Transition Zone

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 131, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract The timing, stratigraphic development, and mechanisms of late Paleogene loess deposition remain poorly understood, yet they are critical to understanding how tectonics, fluvial reworking, and eolian transport interacted during a key interval of western North American landscape evolution.

More than just a margin: Local and landscape‐scale factors regulating the effects of riparian forest buffers on stream‐riparian ecosystems in urban and agricultural landscapes

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 8, August 2026.
Riparian forest buffers support biodiversity, ecosystem functioning and food webs in human‐modified landscapes, and dampen land‐use and climate stressors (sediments, nutrients, thermal maxima), motivating their wider use in management. These outcomes were regulated by the presence or size of mostly small, mature buffers and sometimes by proximity among

Fatigue and Rutting Performance of FAA and Conventional Asphalt Mixture Systems

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, Volume 49, Issue 8, Page 3500-3511, August 2026.
ABSTRACT This study evaluates the laboratory fatigue and rutting performance of two specification‐compliant asphalt mixture systems: an FAA‐compliant airfield mixture designed according to FAA AC 150/5370‐10H and a conventional highway mixture designed according to the Turkish General Directorate of Highways requirements.

Flow‐Regulated Migration Phenology of Potamodromous Fishes in a Large Regulated Australian River

open access: yesFreshwater Biology, Volume 71, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Phenological shifts in animal migration are widely reported under climate warming, yet responses of warm‐temperate river fishes in regulated systems remain poorly resolved. Understanding how hydrological and thermal cues interact to structure migration timing is central to predicting ecological responses in large rivers and informing ...
