Putting two water transport models to the test under wet and dry conditions [PDF]
In order to improve fruit quality and quantity, accurate monitoring of the water status is necessary. The water status can be continuously predicted by using a mechanistic water transport and storage model (e.g. Steppe et al., 2006; 2008).

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

HYDRAULIC CIRCULATION PERFORMANCE OF A CURVILINEAR MARINA
An innovative coastal engineering concept has been developed to maximize the hydraulic circulation and water quality of dredged backshore harbors and boat basins. The concept represents a radical departure from the hydraulic design of existing artificial boat basins in that the basin geometry and entrance channel are primarily sized for hydraulic ...

Hydraulic conductivity of a dense prehydrated GCL: impact of free swell and swelling pressure [PDF]
Exposure to liquids with high electrolyte concentrations or high cation valence present in landfill leachates can cause significant increases in hydraulic conductivity of clays due to a reduction in the thickness of the double layer.

Nonelastomeric Rod Seals for Advanced Hydraulic Systems [PDF]
Advanced high temperature hydraulic system rod sealing requirements can be met by using seals made of nonelastomeric (plastic) materials in applications where elastomers do not have adequate life.
