Experimental Capture Width Ratio on Unit Module System of Hybrid Wave Energy Converter for Nearshore

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This study proposes a new hybrid wave energy converter composed of a horizontal cylinder and a swing plate to improve the capture width ratio. The horizontal cylinder generates electrical energy by using the potential energy of the incident wave, whereas

Oscillating body wave energy conversion efficiency based on Simulink simulation training

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 12, Issue 4, Page 1411-1421, April 2024.
The wave energy conversion efficiency has been calculated based on Simulink simulation training, and a maximum output power of 8.1 W has been gained as the corresponding linear damping is 21,000 N s/m. Abstract With the development of the economy and society, we are faced with the dual challenges of energy demands and environmental pollution. As one of

Combining observed linear basin amplification factors with 1D nonlinear site‐response analyses to predict site response for strong ground motions: Application to Wellington, New Zealand

open access: yesEarthquake Spectra, Volume 40, Issue 1, Page 143-173, February 2024.
This study develops a method for estimating site amplification that combines instrumentally observed site‐specific amplification factors with adjustment factors from nonlinear site‐response analyses. This approach provides estimates of site response for large‐strain motions based on observations and sophisticated nonlinear modeling.
