In Situ Thermomechanical Evolution of Geopolymer‐Bonded Castables Containing Alternative Aluminosilicate Precursors

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Geopolymer binders have emerged as promising alternatives to calcium aluminate cement (CAC) for refractory castables, although their thermomechanical behavior during heating remains poorly understood. This work investigates high‐alumina refractory castables bonded with geopolymers produced from metakaolin (MK), calcined kaolin (CC), and an ...

The first discovery of a shocked, metasomatised CV3 chondrule‐fragment in a (Al,Cu)‐bearing micrometeorite

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 61, Issue 9, Page 2269-2283, September 2026.
Abstract We report the discovery of the second (Al,Cu)‐alloy–bearing micrometeorite, FB‐A2, recovered from Mount Gariglione (southern Italy), representing the sixth such occurrence worldwide. Although chondritic in nature, FB‐A2 differs markedly from previously described microspherules.

Aquaculture Systems Affect the Impact of Probiotics, Prebiotics, and Synbiotics on Growth and Immunity of Oreochromis niloticus: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 18, Issue 4, September 2026.
Probiotics reliably improve growth, feed efficiency, and immunity in Nile tilapia, with closed systems showing the most consistent benefits. ABSTRACT Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) aquaculture is expanding worldwide, yet disease, environmental variability, and the need for sustainable production remain major challenges.

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 111, Issue 9, Page 4015-4040, 1 September 2026.
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...
