Hydro-abrasive erosion characteristics of 30vol.%SiCp/6061-T6 Al composite at shallow impact angles
Wear, 1993Abstract Hydro-abrasive erosion characteristics were investigated for 30vol.%SiC p /6061-T6 Al composite material and 6061-T6 aluminium alloy at steady-state conditions using abrasive waterjets. The erosion rates were measured for shallow impact angles ( p /6061-T6 Al composite were less than the erosive wear rates of the 6061-T6 aluminium alloy by a

Hydro-abrasive erosion of concrete incorporated with nano-SiO2, super-fine slag or rubber powder
Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences, 2013In this paper, we investigates the concretes respectively incorporated with 5% (m:m) nano-SiO2 (NS), 40% (m:m) super-fine slag (SS), as well as 40% (m:m) SS combining 20% replacement of sand volume with RP. The tested mechanical properties include compressive strength, abrasion resistant strength, and elastic modulus.

The hydro-abrasive erosion wear behavior of duplex-treated surfaces of AISI H13 tool steel
Science China Technological Sciences, 2014The influence of duplex surface treatments consisting of a DC-pulsed plasma nitriding process and subsequent coatings of CrN and TiAlN deposited by physical vapor deposition (PVD) on AISI H13 tool steel was studied in this article. The treated samples were characterized using metallographic techniques, SEM, EDS, and microhardness methods.

Hydro-abrasive erosion in turbines of hydropower plants (HPPs) at sediment-laden rivers is still a concern despite the application of hard-coatings. To further investigate the problem and support HPP operators to better cope with the fine sediment load and its consequences, a long-term research study was conducted at the high-head run-of-river HPP ...
