Hydrocarbon Generation and Accumulation in the South Junggar Basin, Northwest China: Insights From Basin Modeling

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
The South Junggar foreland basin (SJFB) is characterized by fold-and-thrust deformation caused by the Cenozoic India–Tibet collision and uplift of the Tianshan Mountains. The tectonic deformation and hydrocarbon accumulation in this region show east-west,

Transformation Mechanism of a Fault and Its Associated Microstructures in Low-Porosity Rocks: A Case Study of the Tanan Depression in the Hailar-Tamtsag Basin

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2019
Faults have complex internal structures, which can be divided into the fault core and the damaged zone. During the fault formation process, the damaged zone will develop a large number of fractures cross cutting the adjacent host rocks, where the size ...

Hydrocarbon accumulation by picocyanobacteria from the Arabian Gulf [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Microbiology, 2001
The objective of this work was to study picocyanobacteria in the Arabian Gulf water in relation to oil pollution.Epifluorescent microscopic counting showed that offshore water samples along the Kuwaiti coast of the Arabian Gulf were rich in picocyanobacteria which ranged in numbers between about 1 x 10(5) and 6 x 10(5) ml(-1).
