Hydrocarbon Accumulation in Low-Permeability Shale Sequences

Third International Conference on Geology of the Caspian Sea and Adjacent Areas, 2019
Summary The authors considered the geodynamic conditions for the formation of the structure of the Caspian basin. A geomechanical model of the formation of folding in geological bodies as a result of acquiring internal volumetric mobility, the ability to flow, is shown.

Detection hydrocarbon accumulation in South Backa

54th EAEG Meeting, 1992
The most important reservoir horizons in South Backa is the lower Badenien conglomerate depositional environments. The paper describes the existing tectonic interpretation and geological framework of the Miocen and its immediate base in regions of South Backa.

Hydrocarbon Accumulations in the Tarim Basin, China

AAPG Bulletin, 1996
The Tarim basin is the largest and least explored inland basin in China. The areal extent of the basin reaches 560,000 km2. The interior of the basin is mostly covered by the Takla Makan Desert, which is about 330,000 km2 in areal extent. The basin has become the object of special attention since China set aside first- and third-round onshore bidding ...

Accumulation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in an urban snowpack

Science of The Total Environment, 1988
Accumulations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in a snowpack were studied in an industrial urban area with numerous anthropogenic sources of PAHs. Average PAH loadings stored in the snowpack were determined, plotted on a map of the study area, and arenal distribution approximated by isoloading contours.

Oil Origin and Formation of Hydrocarbon Accumulations

2009
When substantiating the above-mentioned formation model of deep fluids in lower and middle parts of sections covering platforms and filling inter- and intramontane depressions, we should also consider the formation problem of hydrocarbon accumulations in stratified sedimentary systems with account for principal inferences derived from the analysis of ...

Accumulation of chlorinated hydrocarbon vapours in pine needles

Chemosphere, 1985
Abstract Needles with different ages from four pines have been analysed for PCB's, HCB, α- and γ-HCH, p,p'DDT and DDE. The accumulation found has been discussed and provisional accumulation rates under actual background conditions have been calculated.

Concepts for Estimating Hydrocarbon Accumulation and Dispersion

AAPG Bulletin, 1983
The present volume and composition of trapped hydrocarbons are temporary events controlled by the interacting volumes of trap, oil, and gas, all of which change through time. Thus, both the volume and type of trapped hydrocarbon result from the interacting effects of kerogen amount, type, and maturity; gas and oil migration efficiencies; trap growth ...

Permo-Carboniferous Hydrocarbon Accumulations, Mid-Continent, U.S.A.

AAPG Bulletin, 1983
Approximately 19.4 billion bbl of oil and 119 tcf of nonassociated gas have been discovered in the Mid-Continent as of January 1, 1978. Although these volumes of hydrocarbons were trapped in thousands of fields throughout the Mid-Continent, the bulk of these resources were emplaced in a relatively few fields: about 14.2 billion bbl of oil have been ...

THE VENEZUELAN HYDROCARBON HABITAT, PART 2: HYDROCARBON OCCURRENCES AND GENERATED‐ACCUMULATED VOLUMES

Journal of Petroleum Geology, 2000
Venezuela's most important hydrocarbon reserves occur in the intermontane Maracaibo Basin and in the Eastern Venezuela foreland basin. Seeps are abundant in these areas. Lesser volumes occur in the Barinas‐Apure foreland basin. Most of the oil in these basins was derived from the Upper Cretaceous La Luna Formation in the west and its equivalent, the ...

Metabolic accumulation of hydrocarbons by Acinetobacter species.

Zhonghua Minguo wei sheng wu ji mian yi xue za zhi = Chinese journal of microbiology and immunology, 1982
Acinetobacter HO1-N grown on hexadecane as a sole source of carbon and energy was demonstrated to cytoplasmically sequester this hydrocarbon. Cultures grown with hexadecane and heptadecane accumulated intracytoplasmically both hydrocarbons. The accumulation of specific alkanes was non-specific while the oxidation of the pooled hydrocarbon was highly ...
