Carbon‐Negative Ammonia Production from the Air

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Our work demonstrates a carbon‐negative ammonia synthesis process that not only produces NH3 from air but also directly captures the atmospheric CO2 (DAC), which achieves low‐cost DAC process with exceptional CO2 capacity and free ammonia production. This paves a new way in the development of sustainable and negative‐emission technologies.

Selective Electrochemical Production of Ethylene from Bicarbonate Solution

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We report direct electroreduction of bicarbonate to C2+ products using Cu mesh catalysts. The effect of mesh thickness, pore size, catholyte composition, and thermal treatment was systematically studied. Our finding shows that thinner Cu mesh showed enhanced C2+ selectivity due to improved mass transport, while heat‐treated meshes form oxide‐derived ...

Highly Selective Adsorption of Para‐Xylene, Ethylbenzene, and Explicit Exclusion of Ortho‐Xylene from Xylene Isomers Using a Pillar‐Layered MOF with Tuned Pore Channels

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Channel confinement via rigid cylindrical pillaring in a MOF framework enables molecular sieving through elliptical windows, offering a blueprint for ambient‐condition xylene isomer separation. Abstract Xylene isomer separation is a long‐standing challenge due to the nearly identical properties of para‐xylene (PX), meta‐xylene (MX), ortho‐xylene (OX ...

Electrodialysis of LiPF6 in Aqueous Solution for Wastewater Treatment in Hydrometallurgical Recycling of Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Hydrometallurgical recycling of lithium‐ion batteries produces wastewater containing PF6− and Li+, which must be removed and recovered, respectively. This study pioneers electrodialysis using anion exchange membrane and cation exchange membrane to separate PF6− and Li+.
