Deflagration of Hydrocarbon Aerosol Fuels

Combustion Science and Technology, 1997
Aerosols of hydrocarbon/air may be formed on accidental release of product in the chemical and process industries and pose a fire and explosion hazard. Some very large-scale accidents involving such systems have been reported. This paper reports a series of novel scouting experiments in a purpose-built medium-scale facility, designed to throw light on ...

Fuel and Hydrocarbon Vaporization

1973
Abstract : A new semi-empirical expression has been developed which predicts the evaporation rates of pure liquid hydrocarbons under a wide range of conditions. A code has been formulated which, using the above results, calculates the evaporation rates of binary mixtures of hydrocarbons.

SATURATED HYDROCARBON FUEL CELL PROGRAM

1963
Abstract : The objective of Task IV is the study of hydrocarbon fuel cells with non-acid electrolytes. New cell hardware was designed and constructed, based on previous experience with organic fuels. High precision material balance equipment was constructed, and calibrations for the initial phases of the work were completed.

The Combustion of Hydrocarbon Fuels

1994
It is difficult to overestimate the importance of the part played by combustion in the development of mankind. The key to this progress was the discovery of how to manage the combustion process; in other words, the ability to initiate combustion when required and to control and apply the resulting fire.

THERMAL STABILITY OF HYDROCARBON FUELS

1961
Abstract : Research was conducted to: (1) develop a small scale jet fuel thermal stability tester capable of operation at fuel temperatures from 300 to 650 F with samples 1 qt or less in size, and (2) study the effects of storage on thermal stability performance of JP-6 grade jet fuels and establish causes (in terms of environmental factors and fuel ...

Desulphurization of liquid hydrocarbon fuel

2014
Desulphurization of liquid hydrocarbon fuel is necessary due to the increasingly stringent environmental regulations on the sulphur content of liquid hydrocarbon fuel. Also, oil products produced from waste tyre pyrolysis have sulphur content of about 1.0 wt% which is far higher than the regulations.
