Molecular filming: A director's grammar for visualizing chemistry in motion

open access: yesBulletin of the Korean Chemical Society, Volume 47, Issue 9, Page 1042-1057, September 2026.
Molecular filming names the practice, not just the product, of ultrafast structural science. In deliberate analogy to molecular editing, which rewrites connectivity in space, molecular filming records geometry in time, assembling time‐ordered structural frames into a movie of atomic motion and recasting the field as a grammar of directorial choices ...

Bioactive compounds in insects—Composition, extraction, functionality, food applications, and safety concerns

open access: yesFood Biomacromolecules, Volume 3, Issue 3, Page 620-645, September 2026.
This review synthesizes 94 studies (2000–2025) exploring edible insects as sustainable sources of peptides, lipids, and chitin. Utilizing “green” extraction, these bioactives offer antioxidant and antimicrobial benefits for functional foods. However, addressing safety concerns like allergenicity and heavy metals through standardized frameworks remains ...

Nanoencapsulation of Basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) and Echinophora platyloba DC. Essential Oils in Chitosan Nanoparticles: Characterization and Efficacy in Burger Preservation

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
Nanoencapsulation of the essential oils produced nanocapsules with small particle sizes and high encapsulation efficiency. Nanoencapsulation of the essential oils reduced microbial counts in the burger samples. The chitosan nanocapsules of essential oils enhanced total phenolic content and antioxidant properties in the burger samples.

From Mn(II)3 to Mn(IV)3: Controlled Multielectron Oxidation and Hydrocarbon Oxygenation Within a 7‐Dipy Trinuclear Scaffold

open access: yesJournal of the Chinese Chemical Society, Volume 73, Issue 9, Page 1447-1458, September 2026.
A trinuclear manganese complex supported by the 7‐Dipy scaffold undergoes controlled multielectron oxidation from Mn(II)3 to high‐valent Mn(IV)3 states. Spectroscopic signatures, including 16‐line and g eff ≈ 5 EPR features, reveal stepwise redox accumulation.
