Kinetic study of marine and lacustrine shale grains using Rock-Eval pyrolysis: Implications to hydrocarbon generation, retention and expulsion

open access: yes, 2018
The kinetic parameters of marine and lacustrine shale grains (4 mm) were retrieved by using Rock-Eval pyrolysis in comparison with finely ground powder (<0.178 mm) and kerogen of same samples.

Joule self‐heating enabled oxygen transport and coupled methane reactions in a La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3‐δ hollow fiber membrane reactor

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Mixed‐conducting ceramic hollow fiber membranes are a versatile platform for oxygen separation, value‐added chemical production, and oxy‐combustion. Because oxygen permeation is thermally activated, these systems typically rely on bulky, energy‐intensive furnaces that suffer from low efficiency and large thermal inertia.

Generation and expulsion process of the Chang 7 oil shale in the Ordos Basin based on temperature -based semi -open pyrolysis: Implications for in -situ conversion process

open access: yes, 2020
There is a substantial amount of oil shale resources in the seventh member of the Triassic Yanchang Formation (abbreviated as Chang 7) in the Ordos Basin, and its geological and geochemical characteristics are highly suitable for in-situ conversion ...

In Situ Contact Angle Measurement for Autonomous Spin Coating in Self‐Driving Labs

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
A vision‐based add‐on transforms commercial spin coaters into autonomous modules of Self‐Driving Labs. Combining a width‐scaled U‐Net with classical geometric analysis, the system simultaneously measures contact angles and estimates substrate pose using a single camera.

Hydrocarbon generation, expulsion, and retention characteristics of the Permian Fengcheng shale and Lucaogou shale in the Junggar Basin: implications for the exploration of lacustrine shale oil

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Hydrocarbon generation patterns are crucial for defining favorable exploration maturity intervals and targets for shale oil. The Permian Fengcheng shale and Lucaogou shale in the Junggar Basin, as significant targets for shale oil exploration, study on ...

Evaluation on occluded hydrocarbon in deep–ultra deep ancient source rocks and its cracked gas resources

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2015
Oil-cracked gas, as the main type of high-over mature marine natural gas in China, is mainly derived from occluded hydrocarbon. So it is significant to carry out quantitative study on occluded hydrocarbon.

Relationship between hydrocarbon generation–expulsion and deformation in an exhumated Early Cretaceous kitchen in the Austral-Magallanes Basin, southern Patagonia

open access: yes
We characterized the thermal evolution of the exhumated hydrocarbon kitchen of the Rio Mayer Formation (Lower Cretaceous) in the Austral-Magallanes Basin in two profiles outcropping in the southern Patagonian Andes. We integrated data from fluid inclusion,

An assessment of fluid flow and overpressure modelling m selected North Sea and Laramide basins [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The occurrence of overpressure observed in petroleum bearing basins must be understood in terms of generation and distribution in order to build up a fluid flow history.

The role of the host—Neutrophil biology

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Neutrophilic polymorphonuclear leukocytes (neutrophils) are myeloid cells packed with lysosomal granules (hence also called granulocytes) that contain a formidable antimicrobial arsenal. They are terminally differentiated cells that play a critical role in acute and chronic inflammation, as well as in the resolution of inflammation and wound ...

Identification and evaluation of shale oil micro-migration and its petroleum geological significance

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development
Taking the Lower Permian Fengcheng Formation shale in Mahu Sag of Junggar Basin, NW China, as an example, core observation, test analysis, geological analysis and numerical simulation were applied to identify the shale oil micro-migration phenomenon. The
