Amorpha fruticosa L. is a kenophyte of North American origin, ergaziophyte. Currently, this species has naturalized over large areas and has become the background on the coastal waters of the Dnieper reservoirs of hydropower stations. It is necessary to clarify the reasons for the distribution of A.

Hydrochory and Successional Changes in Abandoned Rice Fields, Georgetown County, South Carolina
Southeastern Geographer, 2007Field methods, a normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and a geographic information system (GIS) were used to analyze the recovery of wetland plant communities altered by historic agricultural disturbance. Rice fields abandoned at 3, 30, 75, and 132 yr prior to fieldwork were compared to an uncultivated control site for this study.

Subaqueous hydrochory: open‐channel hydraulic modelling of non‐buoyant seed movement
Freshwater Biology, 2008Summary1. Subaqueous transport may be a significant dispersal and migration mechanism of non‐buoyant seeds of aquatic and riparian plants, and also secondary transport of seeds once they have lost buoyancy, but the efficiency of this difficult to observe process is largely unexamined. This study uses hydraulic modelling to establish the discharges that

Linkages between primary seed dispersal, hydrochory and flood timing in a semi‐arid region river
Journal of Vegetation Science, 2013AbstractQuestionsAre seed release and hydrochory of riparian plants coupled with seasonal flood pulses for a river with bimodal flows? What phenological hydrochore guilds are present? How representative of riparian vegetation are hydrochores? What is the role of hydrochory in riparian plant community composition in arid land streams?LocationVerde River,

Following the environmental sieve concept, the setting in which the recruitment of Taxodium distichum occurs in, becomes increasingly restrictive from the seed to seedling stage in an impounded forested wetland. Although a wide elevational band of dispersing seed moves across the boundary of a swamp-field in the water sheet, the zone of germination is ...

Ecological Restoration, 2012
Hydrochory may move species into areas appropriate for establishment, increasing the probability that species can take advantage of restored habitat. This research examined the influence of Everglades ridge and slough degradation on hydrochory, the interaction of hydrochory, hydrology, and ecosystem structure, and the role of hydrochory in ecosystem ...

Hydrochory, the seed dispersal by water, is a strategy used by many aquatic and some terrestrial plants to move into areas appropriate for establishment. In this paper we model the hydrochory effects on the Tunisian island populations of Pancratium maritimum L. using colored Petri nets. Nineteen Tunisian coastal sites were considered including fourteen
