Lipids to biojet and sustainable aviation fuel: uses and competing demands for lipid feedstocks
Abstract The use of biojet and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) as low carbon‐intensity (CI) fuels is likely to be the primary pathway to decarbonize aviation. ‘Waste lipids’, such as fats, oils, and greases (FOGs), are preferred feedstocks due to their lower CI. However, they are mainly used to make biodiesel or renewable diesel.

Challenges in lignin valorization during biomass hydrogenolysis for ethylene glycol production
Abstract This study examined the extent to which lignin upgrading is possible when maximizing ethylene glycol (EG) production during the hydrogenolysis of lignocellulosic biomass over bifunctional tungsten–nickel catalysts. Reductive catalytic fractionation (RCF) was selected as a benchmark lignin valorization process because its reaction conditions ...

Recycled Plastics Utilization in Packaging Converting Processes: A Semi‐Systematic Review
In recent years, increased plastic usage has led to huge amounts of blended plastic waste moving into the environment without proper control. Packaging plastics make up one‐half of all waste and plastics disposal poses a significant environmental issue.

Studies of Catalytic Properties of Inorganic Rock Matrices in Redox Reactions
Intrinsic catalytic properties of mineral matrices of various kinds (basalts, clays, sandstones) were studied, which are of interest for in-situ heavy oil upgrading (i.e., underground) to create advanced technologies for enhanced oil recovery.
