Catalytic Conversion of Lower Olefins to Aromatics Using Zeolite‐Based Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
Zeolite‐catalyzed upgrading of light olefins (C2–C4) into benzene, toluene, and xylenes (BTX) represents a sustainable route to aromatics. This review outlines thermodynamic and mechanistic aspects, the influence of acidity and textural properties of catalysts.

Hydrotreatment of Nylon 66 and Amide Model Compounds Over Sulfided NiMo Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
Hydrotreatment of nylon‐66 and the model amide N,N‐dibutylhexanediamide over sulfided NiMo/Al2O3 reveals competing hydrodenitrogenation and hydrodeoxygenation pathways, without formation of heterocyclic products. Pathway selectivity is influenced by reaction conditions and differs between the model compound and the real nylon sample.

Actor-critic reinforcement learning to estimate the optimal operating conditions of the hydrocracking process

open access: yes, 2021
Determining the optimal operating conditions for hydrocracking units is imperative due to the changing nature of production requirements. However, it is expensive to optimize the hydrocracking process with mathematical models because hydrocracking units ...

Micro–Mesoporous Ferrierite: Strategies for Tuning the Accessibility of a Peculiar Zeolite

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 10, 27 May 2026.
The anisotropic structure of ferrierite (FER) zeolite makes challenging the increase of catalyst effectiveness by hierarchical porosity. The pore mouth location of the active sites for butene isomerization requires a fine balance between development of external surface and retention of shape selectivity.

Spillover Hydrogen Effect On Amorphous Hydrocracking Catalysts

open access: yes, 1995
This work is a contribution to the understanding of the effect of spillover hydrogen in hydrotreating catalysts. Mixtures of sulfided CoMo/SiO2 and an amorphous silica-alumina were studied. The hydrocracking of diphenylmethane was used as a test reaction.

The Relationship Between Catalyst and Solvent in Hydrogenation via Condensed Phase Heterogeneous Catalysis

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Heterogeneous catalysis has historically been developed in the gas phase, however, we have found it pertinent to highlight solvent effects that must be accounted for in liquid environments. Condensed phase catalysis, like that in biomass, petroleum and the conversion of CO2, stands to benefit from the typically overlooked discussion regarding the ...
