Vanillin Hydrodeoxygenation: Kinetic Modelling and Solvent Effect

open access: yesCatalysis Letters, 2018
Vanillin hydrodeoxygenation was investigated using Pt/C catalyst in the temperature and total pressure ranges of 80–200 °C and 20–30 bar in several solvents, such as tetrahydrofuran, 2-propanol, water and in solventless conditions using 1:1 mass ratio of vanillin to guaiacol. The results revealed that the rate increased with increasing solvent polarity

The role of catalyst poisons during hydrodeoxygenation of renewable oils

open access: yes, 2021
Hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) activity of NiMo catalysts have been evaluated in the presence of catalyst poisons in bio-based feedstocks. An in-house synthesized NiMo/Al2O3 catalyst was placed in a refinery unit for biofuel production.

Effect of Mesopore Structural Parameters in Alumina Supports on Catalytic Hydrodeoxygenation of Guaiacol to Cycloalkanes via Ni-Supported Al2O3 Catalysts

open access: yesEnergies
The elevated oxygen content in lignin-derived oil restricts its direct application as a liquid fuel. Ni-based Al2O3 catalysts are commonly employed to enhance the quality of lignin-derived oil via the hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) process.

Tuning Acid-Metal Synergy in m-Cresol Hydrodeoxygenation over Bifunctional Pt/Aluminosilicate Catalysts

open access: yes
Strong synergy between proximate Bro̷nsted acid and metal sites over a Pt/amorphous silica-alumina (ASA) catalyst confers striking activity and selectivity enhancements for m-cresol hydrodeoxygenation to methylcyclohexane, a fuel additive and potential ...

Hydrodeoxygenation of fatty acid methyl ester in gas oil blend–NiMoS/alumina catalyst

open access: yesGreen Processing and Synthesis, 2018
Hydrotreating of 10% fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) blended in gas oil was carried out by an NiMo-S/alumina catalyst and performed at an elevated temperature (300–400°C), a space velocity of 0.7–1.5 1/h and pressure 5 MPa.

Hydrodeoxygenation of stearic acid over Co-Mg-Al-O mixed oxide catalysts

open access: yesChimica Techno Acta
The influence of the Co/Mg molar ratio on the physicochemical and catalytic properties of Co-Mg-Al-O mixed oxides obtained by thermal treatment of layered double hydroxides (LDH) was investigated. Characterization of the mixed oxides by ICP, XRD, and TPR
