Hydrodesulfurization on MoS2/MgO

Catalysis Letters, 1991
A series of Mo/MgO catalysts with loadings ranging from 2–12 wt% Mo were studied by oxygen chemisorption, X-ray diffraction and activity for thiophene hydrodesulfurization (HDS) reaction. The results obtained from the above measurements are compared with those on Mo/-γ-Al2O3.

Hydrodesulfurization Catalysis Fundamentals

2017
This chapter investigates Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) catalysts and processes in different aspects. HDS is one of the most important industrial operations used to reduce sulfur level of highway and nonroad fuels in the presence of a catalyst. HDS catalysts provide an energetically more favorable pathway, in which sulfur compounds are converted to H2S ...

Hydrodesulfurization of coker feed

Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 1983
This article presents data on the hydrodesulfurization of heavy coker gasoils, a distillate from the tar obtained in the thermal cracking of resid, heavy vacuum gasoil (350-520/sup 0/C), and blends of these stocks in various ratios. A single-pass flow unit was used with a fixed bed of commercial alumina-cobaltmolybdenum catalyst.

Sonochemical Preparation of Supported Hydrodesulfurization Catalysts

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2001
Sonochemical preparation of Co and Ni promoted MoS(2) supported on alumina was achieved by high-intensity ultrasonic irradiation of isodurene solutions containing molybdenum carbonyl, dicobalt octacarbonyl, elemental sulfur, and Al(2)O(3) or Ni-Al(2)O(3) under Ar flow. The sonochemically prepared catalysts were characterized by elemental analysis, XPS,

Deep Hydrodesulfurization of Light Gas Oil. 1. Kinetics and Mechanisms of Dibenzothiophene Hydrodesulfurization

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1997
Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) of light gas oil was investigated using sulfided Co−Mo/Al2O3 catalyst. The behavior of dibenzothiophene, monomethyldibenzothiophenes (C1-DBTs) and dimethyldibenzothiophenes (C2-DBTs) in HDS was traced under the following conditions:  temperature, 280−400 °C; LHSV, 2−10 h-1; and gas/oil, 1000 and 125 NL (L-(NTP))/L. The HDS of

Sorption on hydrodesulfurization catalysts

Journal of Catalysis, 1979
Abstract The adsorption of hydrocarbons, thiophenes, esters, acids, and anilines on MoS2 and on sulfurized CoMoAl2O3 and Al2O3 catalysts has been investigated by a chromatographic method at 200 °C. The polarity of catalysts, estimated from differences in the adsorption of alkanes and aromatic hydrocarbons, decreases in the order Al2O3 > CoMoAl2O3
