Numerical Analysis of a Journal Bearing with Chemical Roughness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, performances of an oil-lubricated journal bearing are investigated with special attention paid to slip occurrence. The chemical roughness at which slip occurs is introduced.

A New State Assessment Method for Hydrodynamic Journal Bearings under Different Assembly Characteristics

open access: yesMathematics
As the transmission component in mechanical systems, hydrodynamic journal bearing is widely used in large electromechanical equipment. The instability of the hydrodynamic journal bearing often results in mechanical wear and damage, which may cause ...

Critical Speed of Hyperbolic Disks and Eccentricity Effects on The Stability of The Rotor Bearing System [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2007
The critical speed of hyperbolic disks for the selected model is calculatedin three different cases, anisotropic material and thermal case, isotropicmaterial and thermal case finally isotropic material and thermal withgenerated heat case. The second case

A multiphase flow study for lubrication characteristics on the internal flow pattern of ball bearing

open access: yesResults in Engineering, 2023
This work proposes a general method for establishing the lubrication analysis model of ball bearing and the oil-air multiphase flow characteristics inside ball bearing is revealed by CFD. Based on the geometric feature, the micro-clearance in the chamber

Semiconducting Polymers Post‐Functionalized With Ureido‐Pyrimidinone for Robust Stretchable Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The design of intrinsically robust stretchable semiconducting polymers was achieved through OTBS‐mediated post‐functionalization of PDPP2T side chains with UPy units, generating dual hydrogen‐bonding motifs comprising weaker urethane linkages and strong quadruple UPy interactions along the long alkyl side chain, which is crucial for achieving desirable

Elasto-Hydrodynamic Lubrication Effect in Thrust-Slide Bearings of Scroll Compressors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper presents the concept of the Elasto-Hydrodynamic Lubrication (EHL) effect for the thrust slide-bearings in scroll compressors, which accounts for the superior lubrication characteristics of these bearings.

Study on Multiscale Hydrodynamic Step Bearing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In a step bearing, when the surface separation is so low that it is comparable with the thickness of the physical adsorbed layer on the bearing surface, the physical adsorbed layer should have an influence on the bearing performance.

CFD analysis of partial slip effect on the performance of hydrodynamic lubricated journal bearings

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Slip modification of the lubricated bearing such hydrophobic coating has proven to improve the hydrodynamic performance. The present paper investigates the effect of partial slip on the journal bearing performance using computational fluid dynamic (CFD ...

Affinity‐Tuned Albumin Hitchhiking Extends the Bioorthogonal Capture Window in Pretargeting Radiotheranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Pharmacokinetic engineering of clickable radioligands was achieved via albumin hitchhiking approach within a pretargeted radiotheranostics delivery platform. This approach reduced rapid renal elimination, expanded bioorthogonal capture window, boosted tumor uptake by ∼3.5‐fold, and improved the tumor‐to‐liver ratio by ∼6‐fold.

Theoretical and experimental investigation of the effect of oil aeration on the load-carrying capacity of a hydrodynamic journal bearing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
It is widely assumed that the presence of air bubbles in the lubricating oil of a hydrodynamic bearing gives rise to a reduced load-carrying capacity, because of the high compressibility and low viscosity of the air and its tendency, therefore, to upset ...
