MTBE degradation by hydrodynamic induced cavitation

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2010
Hydrodynamic induced cavitation generates imploding cavitation bubbles which can lead to degradation or even mineralisation of water constituents without addition of any chemicals. This technology overcomes the problems of ultrasound irradiation by the local production of a cavitation cloud close to the sonotrodes.

Computational Analysis of Wall Slip and Cavitation in Lubricated Sliding Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Lubrication is applied to systems in which parts are in relative motion to avoid direct contact between the surfaces. The behavior of the fluid-film in sliding bearings depends on the boundary conditions at the interface between the liquid and the ...

Towards the concept of hydrodynamic cavitation control

open access: yes, 1997
A careful study of the existing literature available in the field of cavitation reveals the potential of ultrasonics as a tool for controlling and, if possible, eliminating certain types of hydrodynamic cavitation through the manipulation of nuclei size ...

Numerical analysis of hydrodynamic cavitation. Influence of vapour compressibility in the cavitation model. [PDF]

open access: yes
openThe purpose of the work is to build a CFD model of hydrodynamic cavitation. Considerations about the compressibility of the vapour phase are conducted, and a function describing the equation of state of the phase is created.

Cavitation Intensity Mechanism in the Hydrodynamic Cavitation Abrasive Finishing

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering
Abstract The hydrodynamic cavitation abrasive finishing (HCAF) technology, as an innovative, clean, and efficient polishing method, has been proven effective for processing the internal surfaces of additive manufacturing flow channels. However, in-depth mechanistic studies on the key factors affecting the cavitation intensity in the HCAF

Hydrodynamic Mechanisms in Cavitation Erosion [Elektronisk resurs]

open access: yes, 2012
A refined description of the hydrodynamic mechanisms involved in determining the erosiveness of a collapsing cavity is presented. It highlights the impact of the possible presence of a partially glassy sheet and that collapse symmetry/asymmetry needs to ...
