Modeling of hydrodynamic cavitation reactors: a unified approach
Chemical Engineering Science, 2001An attempt has been made to present a unified theoretical model for the cavitating flow in a hydrodynamic cavitation reactor using the nonlinear continuum mixture model for two-phase flow as the basis. This model has been used to describe the radial motion of bubble in the cavitating flow in two geometries in hydrodynamic cavitation reactors, viz., a ...

Numerical Assessment of Hydrodynamic Cavitation Reactors Using Organic Solvents
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2011This paper attempts to give a physical insight into the behavior of cavitation bubbles in a hydrodynamic cavitation reactor, with organic liquids employed as the bulk medium. The diffusion limited model of cavitation bubble dynamics has been coupled to hydrodynamics of flow through an orifice.

Hydrodynamic Cavitation Reactor for Efficient Pretreatment of Lignocellulosic Biomass
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2016In the present study, hydrodynamic (HD) cavitation was combined with sodium percarbonate (SP) for the pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass. For HD cavitation, a circular flow system equipped with a venturi tube was employed. The combined system of HD and SP (HD-SP) was compared to a pretreatment system using ultrasonication and SP (US-SP).
