Hydrodynamic coefficients of a vertical circular cylinder

The added mass and the damping coefficient of a large surface-piercing circular cylinder extending to the seabed and undergoing horizontal oscillations are described. A closed-form solution to the corresponding linear radiation problem is obtained by the use of eigenfunction expansions.
