Surface Screening in the Casimir Force

open access: yes, 2005
We calculate the corrections to the Casimir force between two metals due to the spatial dispersion of their response functions. We employ model-independent expressions for the force in terms of the optical coefficients.

Mapping Nanoscale Protein‐Corona Kinetics of DoE‐Optimized Perfluorocarbon Encapsulated‐PLGA Nanoparticles by In Situ, Time‐Resolved Synchrotron SAXS

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

Hydrodynamics for a granular binary mixture at low density

open access: yes, 2001
Hydrodynamic equations for a binary mixture of inelastic hard spheres are derived from the Boltzmann kinetic theory. A normal solution is obtained via the Chapman-Enskog method for states near the local homogeneous cooling state.

From RNA to DNA: How Cargo Identity Reprograms Lipid Nanoparticle Architecture and Function

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The evolution of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) spans from RNA‐LNPs, used in mRNA vaccines, to DNA‐LNPs, ideal for gene therapies. Emerging bionano architectures, decorated with DNA and plasma proteins, pave the way for advanced DNA‐based therapies that are more stable, targeted, and customizable.

Mass transport of an impurity in a strongly sheared granular gas

open access: yes, 2007
Transport coefficients associated with the mass flux of an impurity immersed in a granular gas under simple shear flow are determined from the inelastic Boltzmann equation.

Mitochondrial Transplantation via Magnetically Responsive Artificial Cells Promotes Intracerebral Hemorrhage Recovery by Supporting Microglia Immunological Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A type of magnetically responsive artificial cells (ACs) has been developed, demonstrating the loading of mitochondria and self‐enclosure processes to ensure the protection of mitochondrial transport via the bloodstream. The treatment with ACs effectively transplanted mitochondria around the lesion, thereby improving neurological recovery by supporting

Oxygen‐Inhibition Driven Compartmentalization of Dextran Microgels: Toward Fusible Colloidal Biomaterial Inks for 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Harnessing oxygen inhibition as a materials design principle enables the universal fabrication of core–shell microgels with tunable radial crosslinking gradients. This conceptually simple yet highly versatile strategy generates fusible colloidal bioinks that combine structural hierarchy with adaptive porosity.

Investigation on the Effect of Tail Form on Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) Maneuverability

open access: yesنشریه مهندسی دریا, 2017
In this paper the effect of tail form on maneuverability of autonomous underwater vehicle is investigated. In the beginning, tail form is defined using a mathematical function dependent on two parameters including length of the tail and its cone angle ...

Optimizing end-labeled free-solution electrophoresis by increasing the hydrodynamic friction of the drag-tag

open access: yes, 2009
We study the electrophoretic separation of polyelectrolytes of varying lengths by means of end-labeled free-solution electrophoresis (ELFSE). A coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulation model, using full electrostatic interactions and a mesoscopic ...
