Relationship of Dye Adsorption Onto Biomass Activated Carbon Mixed Matrix Ultrafiltration: A Mass Transfer Model Study

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study explored dye molecule adsorption from water, focusing on activated carbon in polymer membranes for purifying low‐quality water. Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes showed enhanced removal efficiency of methylene blue (MB) from 89.29% to 98.33% with biomass‐activated carbon (BAC).

Experimental Study on the Effect of the Rack Structure on the Hydrodynamic Characteristics of Truss-type Leg

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2019
The rack and pinion system is the most commonly used lifting system for jack-up offshore platforms. There are relatively few studies on the influence of rack structure on the hydrodynamic characteristics of truss-type legs.

Hydrodynamics of probabilistic ballistic annihilation

open access: yes, 2004
We consider a dilute gas of hard spheres in dimension $d \geq 2$ that upon collision either annihilate with probability $p$ or undergo an elastic scattering with probability $1-p$.

Anti‐Slip Material‐Based Strategies and Approaches

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review highlights the principle mechanisms of slipping at the microscale, linking contact mechanics with a friction behavior model for surface interfaces. Main strategies to develop anti‐slip properties to the surfaces are discussed alongside standardized testing approaches.

General equilibrium second-order hydrodynamic coefficients for free quantum fields

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We present a systematic calculation of the corrections of the stress-energy tensor and currents of the free boson and Dirac fields up to second order in thermal vorticity, which is relevant for relativistic hydrodynamics.
