Transport Far From Equilibrium --- Uniform Shear Flow

open access: yes, 1997
The BGK model kinetic equation is applied to spatially inhomogeneous states near steady uniform shear flow. The shear rate of the reference steady state can be large so the states considered include those very far from equilibrium.

Selective Separation of the Rare Earth Elements Dysprosium and Neodymium via Tailoring Nanocellulose Chemical Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dicarboxylate‐modified anionic hairy cellulose nanocrystals exhibit a high selectivity for dysprosium(III) over neodymium(III). This selectivity arises from disordered dicarboxylate cellulose “hairs” that enable cooperative ionic coordination, hydrogen bonding, and strain‐induced conformational shrinkage.

Hydrodynamic coefficients identification of ship simplified modular model based on support vector regression

open access: yesZhongguo Jianchuan Yanjiu
ObjectivesTo address the issue of multicollinearity and parameter drift in the identification of hydrodynamic coefficients in ship separated-type models, this paper proposes a method for modeling simplified three-degree-of-freedom modular models based on

Estimation of Specific Storage and Transmissivity Coefficients for the Hamadan-Bahar Plain Aquifers Using the Stepwise- Balance Method [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی منابع آب, 2015
Specific Storage (Sy) and transmissivity (T) are two of the highly important hydrodynamic parameters required in estimation of the aquifer storage capacity and groundwater (GW) flow through the saturated zone to wells, qantas, springs, **   Water storage

Artificial electric field and electron hydrodynamics

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2021
In the electron dynamics in quantum matter, the Berry curvature of the electronic wave function provides the artificial magnetic field in momentum space, which leads to nontrivial contributions to transport coefficients.

Transport coefficients for an inelastic gas around uniform shear flow: Linear stability analysis

open access: yes, 2005
The inelastic Boltzmann equation for a granular gas is applied to spatially inhomogeneous states close to the uniform shear flow. A normal solution is obtained via a Chapman-Enskog-like expansion around a local shear flow distribution.

VIVID: A qPCR‐Based Platform for Sensitive and Quantitative In Vivo Tracking of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces VIVID (Vesicle In Vivo Identification using DNA), a qPCR‐based platform that tracks PCR‐amplifiable DNA tags loaded in the EVs for accurate and quantifiable EV biodistribution in vivo. ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) represent promising carriers for nucleic acid therapeutics, offering advantages over synthetic nanoparticles ...

Validation of 4DOF maneuvering coefficients optimization using hydrodynamic force and moment estimated from free-running model test results

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
The present study concerns validation of data-driven modeling for ship dynamics from free-running model test results, in terms of estimation of hydrodynamic force and moment, maneuvering coefficients, and maneuver simulation results. An estimation method

Extended dynamical density functional theory for colloidal mixtures with temperature gradients

open access: yes, 2012
In the past decade, classical dynamical density functional theory (DDFT) has been developed and widely applied to the Brownian dynamics of interacting colloidal particles. One of the possible derivation routes of DDFT from the microscopic dynamics is via
