Superior Hydrodynamics of a Modified Cavopulmonary Connection for the Norwood Operation
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1998In the Fontan circulation, energy consumption at the cavopulmonary connection is crucial. Our hypothesis was that a modification of the standard Norwood variant of cavopulmonary connection with an extended anastomosis would improve hydrodynamics. The in vitro hydrodynamics of two different Perspex glass models resembling the Norwood variant of ...

Ground effect on the hydrodynamic performance of a flexible hinge-connected fin
2018 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM), 2018The swimming performance of a flexible fin under ground effect is investigated with computational method in this paper. The flexible fin consists of two parts with different flexibility and performs a pitching motion. Its hydrodynamic force and fluid response are detailed investigated with various gap/distance between the fin and ground.

Hydrodynamic connectivity between two macrotidal Amazonian estuaries
Journal of Coastal Research, 2013ABSTRACT Araujo Jr., W.P. and Asp, N.E., 2013. Hydrodynamic connectivity between two macrotidal Amazonian estuaries The hydrodynamic connectivity between the Taperacu and the Caete estuaries at the east sector of the Amazon Coastal Zone, through the Taici channel was investigated. Water levels, currents, salinity and suspended solid concentration (SSC)

Some Experimental Results in connection with the Hydrodynamical Theory of Seiches
Proceedings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, 1906In a paper read before the Royal Society of Edinburgh, in June 1905, on the Hydrodynamical Theory of Seiches, Professor Chrystal published a number of formulæ from which could be calculated the periods and positions of the nodes of seiches in lakes of various shapes. The solutions of the most general problems, involving variations of the three ...
