Pickering‐Engineered Microparticles for Magnetically Guided Motion and Light‐Triggered Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetically responsive wax microparticles stabilized by hematite cubes through the Pickering emulsification strategy are developed, showing controlled size, motion, and light‐activated catalytic activity. Annealing under a magnetic field enhances their mobility and steering.

Numerical Analysis of a Journal Bearing with Chemical Roughness [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, performances of an oil-lubricated journal bearing are investigated with special attention paid to slip occurrence. The chemical roughness at which slip occurs is introduced.

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Janus Photonic Graphics by Stratified Assembly of Two Distinct Colloids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Double‐sided Janus photonic micropatterns with vivid structural colors are fabricated through a single‐step bottom‐up strategy. Density‐driven stratification and depletion‐mediated crystallization of PMMA and PS binary colloids lead to exclusive lattices on opposite surfaces under centrifugal force.

The hydrodynamic and dynamic motion analysis of a damaged ship

open access: yes, 2008
The hydrodynamic analysis and motion response of a damaged ship requires a novel generalisation of the methodsnormally applied to intact ships or other floating structures. Damaged ship statistics are used to provide likely damage scenarios.

Performance of one-dimensional hydrodynamic lake models during short-term extreme weather events

open access: yes, 2020
Numerical lake models are useful tools to study hydrodynamics in lakes, and are increasingly applied to extreme weather events. However, little is known about the accuracy of such models during these short-term events.
