Human Gut Bacteria and Lipidic Nanoparticles: Particle Composition Predicts Structural Transformation and Bacterial Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

Design and Motion Performance of an Underwater Two-Stage Towed System with Active Heave Compensation

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Underwater towed survey systems are widely used for marine observation, resource exploration, and target identification. While high-speed towing is increasingly required to improve operational efficiency, conventional single-stage towed systems face a ...

Longitudinal static stability requirements for wing in ground effect vehicle

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2015
The issue of the longitudinal stability of a WIG vehicle has been a very critical design factor since the first experimental WIG vehicle has been built. A series of studies had been performed and focused on the longitudinal stability analysis.

Hydro-Dynamic Model and Low-Speed Stability Analysis of Hydraulic Transformer

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Hydraulic transformer is a significant component to develop the future energy saving hydraulic systems; however, the speed stability is one of the problems in such a machine because the rotor is unconstrained and the rotary inertia of the rotor is small.

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Global Stability of a Premixed Reaction Zone (Time-Dependent Liñan’s Problem) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
Global stability properties of a premixed, three-dimensional reaction zone are considered. In the nonadiabatic case (i.e., when there is a heat exchange between the reaction zone and the burned gases) there is a unique, spatially one-dimensional steady ...

Experimental study on the applicability of Westergaard’s formula for calculating earthquake-induced hydrodynamic pressure in small lake

open access: yesJournal of Modern Transportation, 2017
Moraine-dammed lake outbursts usually threaten highways, railways, and key facilities in alpine regions. The varying amplitudes and distribution of hydrodynamic pressures significantly affect the stability of the dam.

Intrinsic Photoactive Star ZnPc–Poly(glutamate) Nanoplatforms for Multimodal Glioblastoma Therapy and Brain‐Targeted Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An intrinsic photoactive star‐shaped zinc phtalocyanine‐poly(L‐glutamic acid) (ZnPc‐PGA) nanoplatform for multimodal glioblastoma (GBM) therapy and brain‐targeted elivery. A ZnPc‐PGA‐based multifunctional theranostic nanocarrier platform enables image‐guided, multimodal GBM therapy. ZnPc‐PGA nanocarriers support the integration of fluorescence imaging,

Model Development and Stability Analysis for a Turbocharger Rotor System under Multi-Field Coupled Forces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Automotive turbochargers have been widely applied in vehicles in order to increase the power output of internal combustion engines by increasing the air to fuel ratio entering the piston cylinders.
