Hydrodynamic slip length as a surface property

Physical Review E, 2016
Equilibrium and nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations were conducted in order to evaluate the hypothesis that the hydrodynamic slip length is a surface property. The system under investigation was water confined between two graphite layers to form nanochannels of different sizes (3-8 nm). The water-carbon interaction potential was calibrated by

Hydrodynamics of Tandem Planning Surfaces

SNAME Maritime Convention, 2013
This study addresses Hydrodynamic interaction of two planning surfaces in the two dimensional, inviscid, steady flow approximation. The velocity potential is found by disturbing hydrodynamic sources on the horizontal plane and satisfying linearized boundary conditions for the water flow at finite Froude numbers.

Surface chemical and hydrodynamic stability

2007

Hydrodynamic model for surface nematic viscosity

Physical Review E, 1999
We propose a hydrodynamic model that justifies the surface viscosity already introduced as a phenomenological parameter in the surface dynamics of nematic liquid crystals. In this model the surface orienting field of a substrate is assumed to be diluted in a thin boundary layer that is described by the balance equations of the Ericksen-Leslie theory. A

Hydrodynamic specific surface area

2011
Hydrodynamic specific surface area and compressibility are suitable parameters to characterize the behavior of fibrous material in draining processes such as sheet forming and pressing as well as the strength of the resulting sheets. Obvious data differences caused by effects of raw material or pulping processes made the hydrodynamic specific surface ...

Transconformation Surface Reaction and Hydrodynamic Stability

1976
In the present paper, the authors have tried to give a physico-chemical model of a membrane in which the ion flow is regulated by a transconformation reaction.

Hydrodynamic Theory of Surface-Plasmon Dispersion

Physical Review B, 1973
The dispersion of surface-plasma oscillations is calculated analytically, using the Bloch hydrodynamic model for an electron gas and solving Maxwell's equations in the absence of retardation effects. This study is based on an approximation for a constitutive relation which provides a useful alternative to previous model descriptions of the surface.

Hydrodynamics of Surface Tension Dominated Flows

2002
This series of lectures is concerned with the fluid dynamics of surface tension driven flows. Surface tension forces arise at the interface between two fluids (e.g. water and air) and can be of central importance in applications where a separating (and in many cases moving) interface is part of the process. Examples include, but are not limited to, the
