Integration of PV floating with hydroelectric power plants [PDF]

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
The integration of floating a PV plant (FPV) with a Hydroelectric Power plant (HPP) is studied and it is shown that several advantages come from this hybridization. The FPV power potential is analysed for the first 20 largest HPPs in the world and it is shown that when covering 10% of the HPP basin surfaces the HPP energy production is increased by 65%.

Hydroelectric power plants for small rivers

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract Comparative analysis of methods of obtaining electricity from a renewable energy source is carried out. Various designs and op-tions for small hydroelectric power plants have been proposed. Positive and negative factors of structures under consideration and their impact on the environment are analyzed.

Hydroelectric power plant on a paper strip [PDF]

open access: yesLab on a Chip, 2018
We exploit the combinatorial advantage of electrokinetics and tortuosity of a cellulose-based paper network on laboratory grade filter paper for the development of a simple, inexpensive, yet extremely robust (shows constant performance for 12 days) ‘paper-and-pencil’-based device for energy harvesting applications.

China’s rising hydropower demand challenges water sector [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Demand for hydropower is increasing, yet the water footprints (WFs) of reservoirs and hydropower, and their contributions to water scarcity, are poorly understood.

An early cost estimation model for hydroelectric power plant projects using neural networks and multiple regression analysis

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2015
Energy is increasingly becoming more important in today’s world, whereas energy sources are drastically decreasing. One of the most valuable energy sources is hydro energy.

How Will Hydroelectric Power Generation Develop under Climate Change Scenarios? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Climate change has a large impact on water resources and thus on hydropower. Hydroelectric power generation is closely linked to the regional hydrological situation of a watershed and reacts sensitively to changes in water quantity and seasonality.

Methodology to rehabilitate hydroelectric power plants

open access: yesDYNA, 2022
Repowering the Brazilian hydroelectric park is a way to expand the use of energy from hydro sources, even in a scenario where the options to build new projects are increasingly restricted. Several technical and economic aspects must be considered when evaluating the feasibility to carry out a repowering process, where indicators are considered to ...

Changes in the state territory, systemic changes, the development of ecological thinking and the issues of the utilisation of hydroelectric power in Hungary [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Annals of the Danube Delta Institute, 2012
Each big river, including the Danube, makes a single system from their spring to their delta or estuary. Wherever we intervene into the system, this will be necessarily affect the whole of that. Thespillover effects are especially striking in the case of
