SMALL FLOATING HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT
International Journal of Engineering Applied Sciences and Technology, 2011The operation of a surface hydroelectric power plant made up with paddles that articulate with one another to form a close chain is analyzed. This chain is partially submerged in a stream of water in such a way that the drag force of the stream causes its movement.

The features of sustainable Solar Hydroelectric Power Plant
Renewable Energy, 2009This work presents the main features of the new power plant that comprises the modified reversible hydro electric power plant (HE) operating together with the photovoltaic power plant (PV). Such Solar Hydroelectric Power Plant (SHE) uses solar energy as the only input for production of solar and hydro energy.

Power Plant Performance Based on Power-Efficiency Curve of Hydroelectric Power Plant
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2015—Hydropower energy is widely used throughout the world. It is the only renewable energy that is presently commercially practical on the large scale. In order to maintain the hydropower plant in good condition, the performance of the power plant needs to be monitored constantly.

Environmental Impacts of Hydroelectric Power Plants
Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1977Hydroelectric power plants sited on rivers and streams change the natural conditions of these water bodies through both short-term and long-term impacts. Therefore, changes in water quality, erosion, fluctuation in water temperature and water flow, and eutrophication must be studied in planning future hydroelectric installations. The objectives of this

Transients In Hydroelectric Power Plants
2014Various turbine operations, such as start-up, shut-down, load acceptance and rejection, produce transients in hydroelectric power plants. This chapter deals with the analysis of these transients. In this analysis, the conduits and related boundaries may be simulated utilizing the computational procedures and boundary conditions presented in Chapter 3 ...

Prediction of electric-power generation at hydroelectric power plants
Power Technology and Engineering, 2013The purpose of this study is to select and test models for prediction of electric-power generation at the Rybinsk and Nizhegorodskaya HPP with allowance for their cascade operation for the second quarter based on data (runoff-forming and atmospheric factors), which are known at the time of the prediction.

Experimental investigations of a hydroelectric power plant
2016 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE), 2016The use of renewable low power sources is currently rather reduced. Utilization of some specialized software allows the operation of the low-power hydroelectric power plants in automatic regime, without local monitoring personnel, these being able to be remotely monitored and controlled.

Electronic module for small hydroelectric power plant
24th International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology. Concurrent Engineering in Electronic Packaging. ISSE 2001. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.01EX492), 2002Modern automation control systems of small hydroelectric power plants provide a constant frequency on the network. This regularization is achieved through positioning of the hydraulic director device that controls both water flow and electric machine speed.

Hydroelectric power plants and flooding prevention
2000In this paper a CFD (computational fluid mechanics) approach to the problem of hydroelectric power plants and flooding is presented. The applied method is mathematical modeling and computer simulation. The mathematical model is the open channel flow model, nonstationary, one-dimensional and extended with the floodplain compartment model.
