Hydrogen Electrocatalysis

ChemPhysChem, 2006
AbstractA selection of recent theoretical and experimental studies on electrolytic hydrogen evolution is presented. It is demonstrated with well‐defined model surfaces that this reaction is a very structure‐sensitive process. Crystallographic orientation, defect density and surface composition are parameters that determine the local geometric and ...

Hydrogen nanobubble at normal hydrogen electrode

Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2013
Electrochemically formed hydrogen nanobubbles at a platinum rotating disk electrode (RDE) were detected by re-oxidation charge. The dissolution time course of the hydrogen nanobubbles was measured by AFM tapping topography under open-circuit conditions at stationary platinum and gold single-crystal electrodes.

Catalyzed Hydrogen Spillover for Hydrogen Storage

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2009
A crucial bottleneck in developing a hydrogen economy is hydrogen storage. This is particularly true for transportation using hydrogen as the fuel for fuel cells. The U.S. Department of Energy has established specific R&D targets for on-board hydrogen storage.

Hydrogen–hydrogen bonding: The current density perspective

Journal of Computational Chemistry, 2015
Current density plots of closed‐shell intermolecular HH interactions characterized by a bond critical point (BCP) show two vortices separated by a saddle, a pattern which allows for a clear definition of a pair current strength. This HH current strength turns out to be roughly related to the potential energy density at the BCP and then to the ...
