Timing of hydrogen cyanamide application to grapevine buds
2015One major factor limiting the application of hydrogen cyanamide (H2CN2) is the difficulty in deciding when to apply, since mistiming may lead to bud and crop damage. Since an effective method for monitoring the developmental stage of dormant buds is not yet available, minimizing such a risk involves the regional evaluation of application timing.

Use of hydrogen cyanamide for apple and plum thinning
Plant Growth Regulation, 1992Effects of various concentrations of Dormex (a.i. 49% hydrogen cyanamide) on fruit thinning of ‘Rome Beauty’ apple (Malus domestica Borkh.), ‘Friar’ and ‘Simka’ plums (Prunus salicina Lindley) were studied. A full bloom application of Dormex at all tested concentrations decreased ‘Rome Beauty’ apple fruit set and yield, and increased fruit weight ...

Effect of hydrogen cyanamide on kiwifruit shoot flower number and position
Journal of Horticultural Science, 1993Kiwifruit cv. Hayward vines were treated with hydrogen cyanamide solutions in two winters. At or near flowering, each node on 100 shoots was examined to ascertain whether it was subtended by a bud scale, a vestigial leaf or a true leaf, and whether there was a flower, aborted flower, developing (non-floral) bud or nothing visible in the axil.
