The importance of developing method for thiocyanate becomes obvious, because thiocyanate can inhibit iodine uptake of thyroid gland leading to mumps disease. In this work, thiocyanate is oxidized by permanganate in the acid donor stream to cyanide, which

Search for interstellar methoxyacetonitrile and cyanoethanol: insights into coupling of cyano- to methanol and ammonia chemistry [PDF]
As part of an effort to study gas-grain chemical models in star-forming regions as they relate to molecules containing cyanide (–C≡N) groups, we present here a search for the molecules 2-cyanoethanol (OHCH_2CH_2CN) and methoxyacetonitrile (CH_3OCH_2CN ...

Ultralight 3D nanofibrous aerogels embedded with metal‐organic frameworks effectively capture and neutralize toxic gases and organophosphonates. Incorporating mesoporous UiO‐66‐NH2 and HKUST‐1 into PAN/PVP fibers enables high MOF loading while maintaining mechanical strength and structural stability.

Studies on solvent extraction of free hydrogen cyanide from river water
A method for free and strongly complexed cyanide measurement in river water was developed. Recovery tests from solution with and without river water, using various solvent combinations and background control were investigated to obtain an accurate and ...

Vacuum‐based deposition is promising for perovskite solar cells to be successfully commercialized. However, co‐evaporation, the most common vapor phase deposition technique, suffers from very low deposition rates. In this work, we reveal that high deposition rates can lead to carbon flakes depositing into the perovskite absorber layers due to material ...

Towards quantitative SERS detection of hydrogen cyanide at ppb level for human breath analysis
Lung infections with Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) is the most common cause of morbidity and mortality in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients. Due to its ready adaptation to the dehydrated mucosa of CF airways, PA infections tend to become chronic, eventually ...

On-chip spectroscopy with thermally-tuned high-Q photonic crystal cavities
Spectroscopic methods are a sensitive way to determine the chemical composition of potentially hazardous materials. Here, we demonstrate that thermally-tuned high-Q photonic crystal cavities can be used as a compact high-resolution on-chip spectrometer ...
