Hydrogen embrittlement of metals
Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2000Abstract Aluminium single crystals oriented for single slip have been studied by transverse-field muon-spin relaxation measurements after deformation in compression tests and after thermal annealing. The results show that positive muons can be used to investigate the interaction of hydrogen with dislocations in metals, which plays an important role ...

Hydrogen Embrittlement and Hydrogen-Dislocation Interactions
Corrosion, 1978This paper presents an analog of the Gibbs Adsorption equation which can be used to describe the effect of dissolved hydrogen on the energy of a dislocation. The magnitude of the effect is such that this equation helps explain hydrogen's influence on the fracture toughness of high strength steel.

Hydrogen Embrittlement of Linepipe Steels
Fiziko-himičeskaâ mehanika materialov, 2000Studies were conducted regarding the effect of sulfur content in linepipe steel on hydrogen embrittlement susceptibility. The specimens of high sulfur linepipe (0.021%S) and low sulfur linepipe (0.005%)were exposed to constant hydrogen flux through electrolyte charging under the potentiostatic conditions.Hydrogen absorbed caused the significant

HYDROGEN EMBRITTLEMENT OF STEELS
1953Abstract : The effect of H on the ductility (e) of SAE-1020 steel was studied at strain rates (e) of o.05 to 19,000 in./in./min at temperatures (T) from -320 to +150 F. The ductility surface of the embrittled steel revealed 2 domains: (1) one for which at temperatures below the minima in the ductility curves and (2) the other for which at temperatures ...
