Polarizability of the hydrogen molecular-ion

Physica, 1953
Synopsis The electric polarizability of the hydrogen molecule-ion has been calculated using as a basis the rigorous solution of the Schrodinger equation for H 2 + . The energy of polarization has been calculated by means of exhaustive variation functions involving 9 terms for the parallel polarizability and 6 terms for the perpendicular case; it ...

Hydrogen ion chemisorption at electrodes

Surface Science Letters, 1980
Abstract The discharge of hydrogen ions at the metal-electrolyte interface is investigated with attention to both chemisorptive bonding interactions and hydration effects. Due to the strongness of the interactions, tunneling approximations are inadequate.

Negative hydrogen ion beams

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 1992
A description is presented of the development of H- and D- sources for neutral beam heating on the next generation Tokamaks such as NET or ITER. The two basic types of such ion sources are discussed, where either the ion is formed in the plasma by dissociative attachment or on the surface of a negatively biased electron of low work function.

The measurement of hydrogen ion concentration

Journal of Scientific Instruments, 1924
After a brief summary of the methods which have been used for determining hydrion concentration, the scopes of the conductivity and the hydrogen electrode methods are defined, and the latter is described in detail. The theory of the hydrogen electrode is based on the equilibria at a surface between a noble metal, preferably platinum, and hydrogen in ...
