Hydrogen Cluster Ions

Physical Review Letters, 1982
Molecular weight distributions of hydrogen cluster ions produced by the expansion of refrigerated ionized gas in a supersonic nozzle are reported. Relatively narrow distributions with most probable masses up to a mass-to-charge ratio of 369 have been observed.

Self‐Healing Micellar Ion Gels Based on Multiple Hydrogen Bonding

Advances in Materials, 2018
Ion gels, composed of macromolecular networks filled by ionic liquids (ILs), are promising candidate soft solid electrolytes for use in wearable/flexible electronic devices. In this context, the introduction of a self‐healing function would significantly

Hydrogen ions in hydrophobic membranes

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1968
Filters containing fixed negative charges were saturated with hydrophobic solvent and exposed to solutions containing K+, Na+, or tetraethylammonium+ at various pH's. Between pH 2 and pH 7, H+ is comparable to K+ and tetraethyl-ammonium+ in its ability to compete for fixed negative sites in the membrane.

Hydrogen ions and buffer base

The American Journal of Medicine, 1958
Abstract It is agreed that acids and bases may be defined in terms of transfers of hydrogen ion. In the body, however, since hydrogen ion changes are almost completely buffered, they cannot be measured adequately as such but only in terms of the accompanying reciprocal change in buffer anions.

Hydrogen Ion Concentration versus pH

Anesthesia & Analgesia, 1979
There appears to be a tendency to convert pH values into "hydrogen ion concentrations" using the antilog of negative pH values. The present communication describes the thermodynamic basis of pH to explain that the above procedure is erroneous and that pH values should be treated as primary variables. Acidity expressed by the hydrogen ion concentrations

Comparison between sodium—hydrogen ion and lithium—hydrogen ion exchange in human platelets

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1993
The membrane-coupled exchange of Li+ and/or Na+ for H+ was studied in human platelets measuring intracellular pH(pHi) with a fluorescent indicator. A Li(+)-containing medium restored the internal pH of preacidified platelets to their prior pHi control value.

Control of the Hydrogen Ion

New England Journal of Medicine, 1952
SOME unfortunate awkwardness of terminology has been associated with the heritage of information and ideas in the field of physiologic neutrality regulation. One relatively simple misconception seems to lie behind most of the trouble: when a weak acid HA dissociates, this has been interpreted erroneously as a combining of A- with a cation B+, rather ...

Negative Hydrogen Ion Source

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1956
An rf ion source of conventional type is shown to yield a current of 2.2 μa of negative hydrogen ions. This is accomplished by charge exchange of the positive ions emerging from the plasma with the neutral gas in the probe channel. The negative ion beam is well focused, and the performance of the source is 0.22 μa/cc at NTP/hour.

The Hydrogen Molecular Ion Revisited

Journal of Chemical Education, 2002
The numerical solution of the hydrogen molecular cation problem is described. The Schrodinger equation is set up in confocal ellipsoidal coordinates. After separation of variables, two ordinary eigenvalue equations are obtained. They are related to the angular and to the radial part of the wave function and involve two separation constants.

Hydrogen Ion Incorporation in Crystals

Science, 1963
The protons in crystal structures can be related to the oxygen lattice through several spatial arrangements. In orthosilicates (for example, hydrogarnets), so-called tetrahedral hydroxyls have been demonstrated by indirect methods. Similar methods, when applied to kehoeite and viséite, lead to the conclusion that (H 3
