Analysis and Optimization of Mechanical Properties of Coconut Shell Cellulose Reinforced Polymeric Composite for Industrial Gasket Application

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
The study develops a sustainable gasket material from a mixture of treated coconut shell cellulose and epoxy matrix. Design expert statistical software was used for optimizing the mechanical properties. Chemical and thermal stability tests were performed to validate the gaskets' performance in industrial applications.

Metabolic Enzyme MeHNL11 Regulates MeCAS1b Transcription for Cyanide Reutilization in Response to Nitrate Deficiency in Cassava

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 6, Page 4121-4135, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) exhibits exceptional tolerance to infertile soils and contains abundant cyanogenic glucosides (CGs). Previous research has indicated that CGs can serve as a significant reservoir of organic nitrogen in plants.

Fracture resistance of rubbers with MWCNT, organoclay, silica and carbon black fillers as assessed by the J-integral: Effects of rubber type and filler concentration

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2012
The fracture resistance of different rubbers containing various nanofillers, such as multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT), organoclay, silica and carbon black (CB), was determined by the J-integral making use of the single edge notched tensile loaded (SEN-T)

Infectious Diseases Management in Small‐Scale Freshwater Aquaculture in West Africa: Lessons for Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 18, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Infectious diseases are an increasing threat to food security, small‐scale livelihoods and the sustainability of aquaculture in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). In sub‐Saharan Africa, aquaculture is expanding rapidly but production systems often remain fragile.

The Role of Benzonitrile Chlorination Explored by Dissociative Electron Attachment

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 27, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
Experimental and theoretical dissociative electron attachment study of 2‐ and 4‐chlorobenzonitrile. The dissociative electron attachment process to ortho‐ and para‐chlorobenzonitrile was investigated in the 0–12 eV energy range with a crossed‐beam time‐of‐flight mass spectrometer, supported by quantum chemical scattering calculations.

Adhesion improvement of hydrogenated diamond-like carbon thin films by pre-deposition plasma treatment of rubber substrate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
For reduction of friction and enhancement of wear resistance of dynamic rubber seals, thin films of hydrogenated diamond-like carbon (DLC) have been deposited on hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) via magnetron-enhanced plasma chemical vapor ...
