Hydrogenolysis of methyltetrahydrofurane on platinum
Applied Catalysis, 1984Abstract The hydrogenolysis of methyltetrahydrofuran on supported platinum of high and low dispersion (EUROPT-1 and sintered EUROPT-1) as well as on platinum black was studied in a flow reactor. Based on the variation of activity and selectivity with time on stream, space velocity and temperature, the different behaviour of the three catalysts is ...

Catalytic Hydrogenolysis of Glycerol
2008Rhodium-based catalysts were evaluated for the hydrogenolysis of glycerol. The study was focused on the influence of pH and metal additives on catalyst activity and selectivity. Under basic conditions, 1,2-PDO was formed with high selectivity (> 90%). Traces of acetol and ethylene glycol were detected and lactic acid was observed at high pH.

Abstract On catalytic hydrogenation over Pd-C under normal conditions cubane ( 10 ) takes up 3 mol of hydrogen in a few hours. Bicyclo[2.2.2] octane ( 13 ) is formed as the main product, and tetracyclo[4.2.0.0 2,5 .0 3,8 ]octane (11, secocubane) and tricyclo[4.2.0.0 2,5 ]octane ( 12 ,nortwistbrendane) have been identified as intermediates.

The purpose of this research was to achieved selective hydrogenolysis of glycerol to 1,2-PDO (1,2-propanediol). Hydrogenolysis of glycerol was investigated in batch and trickle flow fixed bed continuous reactors. Raney catalysts and carbon supported precious catalysts were tested in the batch reactor. Ru/C and oxide-supported catalysts were tested in a

Hydrogenolysis of Cyclopropanes
1976The cyclopropane ring is generally rather stable to hydrogenolysis and hydrogenolytic fission of cyclopropanes by heterogeneous catalysis is commonly found to be quite slow. Cyclopropanes are equally stable towards homogeneously catalysed hydrogenolysis, and in the studies so far reported cyclopropane hydrogenolysis by homogeneous catalysis is observed
