The Enigmatic Pockmarks of the Sandy Southeastern North Sea
Abstract Natural seafloor depressions, known as pockmarks, are common subaqueous geomorphological features found from the deep ocean trenches to shallow lakes. Pockmarks can form rapidly or over millions of years and have a large variety of shapes created and maintained by a large variety of mechanisms.

Interannual Variability of Subpolar Mode Water in the Subpolar North Atlantic
Abstract Subpolar Mode Water (SPMW) is an important water mass originating in the eastern North Atlantic. Its formation, subject to modification through oceanic interior mixing, can directly influence the volume of water contributing to the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation. Utilizing observation‐based data sets spanning from 1993 to 2018, we

Development of Surface Drifting Buoys for Fiducial Reference Measurements of Sea-Surface Temperature
This paper presents the conception and the metrological characterization of a new surface drifting buoy, designed to comply with the requirements of satellite sea-surface temperature (SST) measurement validation and to link, per comparison, these ...

Influence of soil plasticity models on offshore wind turbine response
Abstract While recent numerical modelling advances have enabled robust simulation of foundation hysteresis behaviour, uptake of these models has been limited in the offshore wind industry. This is partially due to modelling complexity and the unknown influence of including such soil constitutive models within a design philosophy.

An updated non-intrusive, multi-scale, and flexible coupling interface in WRF 4.6.0 [PDF]
The Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model has been widely used for various applications, especially for solving mesoscale atmospheric dynamics. Its high-order numerical schemes and nesting capability enable high spatial resolution.

Observations of cross-shelf transport due to internal wave pumping on the Bay of Biscay shelf [PDF]
Coastal cross-shelf transport drives the redistribution of sediment, nutrients and pollutants on continental shelves. Here, the cross-shelf volume flux is quantified from in situ measurements at two coastal sites on the Bay of Biscay (BoB) shelf.
