Impacts of Blade Camber on Cross‐Flow Turbine Performance and Loading
ABSTRACT Cross‐flow turbines show promise for renewable energy generation from wind and tidal sources. The rotating reference frame of cross‐flow turbine blades results in virtual camber and incidence due to streamline curvature, altering the lift, drag, and pitching moment of the blades. Adding geometric camber is therefore likely to alter performance

The Journey of Oral Hygiene: The Past, the Present, the Future
This review traces the evolution of personal oral hygiene from ancient chewing sticks to modern powered toothbrushes and interdental devices, linking historical developments with contemporary evidence on efficacy, safety, and behavior. Despite technological advances, periodontal health relies on consistent biofilm removal, highlighting the need for ...

Performance analysis of double blade airfoil for hydrokinetic turbine applications
Hydrokinetic energy holds significant promise as a new, carbon-free energy source. The hydrokinetic turbine harnesses the power from moving water without the construction of a darn.

Eco‐Evo‐Hydraulics: Integrating Fish Evolution Into Ecohydraulics for Conservation
Abstract Riverine fish conservation in eco‐hydraulics is often based on restoring or regulating river habitat to a semi‐natural state. For example, ecohydraulic projects support fish populations by increasing river connectivity through fishways, and by maintaining or restoring natural flow variance to enhance habitat quality and availability.

Hydrokinetic turbines for moderate sized rivers
If hydrokinetic turbines are to make a significant contribution to small scale off-grid power supply, they will need to be affordable, reliable and easily deployed at many sites, not just a few with exceptional combinations of depth and high flow velocity. Few if any products currently on the market meet these criteria.

Abstract Iraq currently faces a significant electricity deficit estimated at approximately 18 000 MW, resulting in frequent and sometimes prolonged power outages that disrupt both economic activities and social life. The widening gap between energy supply and demand, combined with environmental concerns associated with fossil fuel consumption ...

From the reviews, a new concept of a low‐speed centrifugal pump (LSCP) driven by a vertical ultra‐low‐head hydro turbine (VULHT) was designed and tested on simulation and physical setup. It was performed with a 1.8 m delivery head, concluding as inefficient. For ultra‐low‐head conditions, different than centrifugal action is recommended.

ABSTRACT This paper provides improvements to a previously presented simple, accurate, lower order analytical model for predicting the performance of horizontal‐axis shrouded turbines for a wide range of shroud airfoil shapes varying in length, camber, and thickness. The new, extended model incorporates explicit quantitative predictions of those effects
