Trends in the hydrologic regime of Alpine rivers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology, 2015
Summary This paper describes a trend analysis performed on 177 streamflow time series collected over the Alps in Central Europe. The analysis covers several facets of the Alpine hydrologic regimes, including winter droughts and spring snowmelt flows, both in terms of severity and timing of occurrence.

Developing a novel approach to analyse the regimes of temporary streams and their controls on aquatic biota [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Temporary streams are those water courses that undergo the recurrent cessation of flow or the complete drying of their channel. The biological communities in temporary stream reaches are strongly dependent on the temporal changes of the aquatic habitats ...

Analysis of hydrological regime evolution and ecological response in the Min River, China

open access: yesJournal of Water and Climate Change, 2023
Natural fluctuation of the hydrological regime is the key to maintaining river ecosystem function. Given the shortcomings of previous studies on hydrological regime change and the ecological response of the Min River, this study combined two change ...

Hydrological Land Surface Response in a Tropical Regime and a Midlatitudinal Regime [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Hydrometeorology, 2002
A statistical‐dynamical study was performed on the role of hydrometeorological interactions in the midlatitudes and the semiarid Tropics. For this, observations from two field experiments, the First International Satellite Land Surface Climatology Project Field Experiment (FIFE) and the Hydrological Atmospheric Pilot Experiment (HAPEX)‐Sahel ...

Sulfate reduction and alterability of sulfur species in sediments of an estuary with irregular hydrological regime

open access: yesOcean and Coastal Research, 2021
The irregular hydrological regime in Patos Lagoon estuary has been suggested as having a distinctive influence on sulfur speciation in sediments. We performed an investigation for different prolonged hydrological conditions focusing on the distribution ...

Studies and Research on Maximum Flows of the Trotuş River in 1990-2017

open access: yesPresent Environment and Sustainable Development, 2018
Research has analyzed components of the climate and hydrological regime on the Trotuş River and its tributaries over the past 30 years. The hydrological risk was determined by natural causes, but also by anthropogenic causes.
